Capture The Flag -- Summary
Capture The Flag (CTF) offers a different style of gameplay and includes several extra options. The interesting aspect of a CTF game is that you can win without firing a shot (if all goes well, and you know how often that is). Here is a quick summary of the options in Capture The Flag:
1) Type of Flag: Mobile or Stationary
STATIONARY flags cannot be moved. MOBILE flags can be picked up by your units and carried around. To pick up a flag move next to the flag (this gives you control, unless an opponent already is next to it - in which case you have to get rid of that unit first) ... then move onto the flag's square. When you move on to the flag's square your unit picks up the flag.
2) Initial Placement of Flags: At Base or Random
AT BASE puts one flag at each players base. RANDOM places the flags randomly around the map. Note that the flags are all green triangle flags on a thin pole and rest on ONE grid square.
3) Number of Flags Captured: Majority or All
MAJORITY means that to win you must capture the majority of the flags (more than half). ALL means you must capture all the flags to win. In a two player game this setting does not matter.
4) Victory Timing: Hold for a time, At Capture, or Return To Base
HOLD FOR A TIME means that once you have captured the flags needed to win, you must keep them in your control for a set amount of time (determined by the game). AT CAPTURE means as soon as you capture the flags needed to win, you are the winner. RETURN TO BASE applies only with mobile flags ... You must not only capture the flags, but you must carry them back to your base and set them in the 2x2 cement flag block.

In this screenshot you can see a Stationary flag in the upper left corner, two mobile flags in the bottom two corners, a flag base in the center, and a scout that is carrying a flag in the upper right corner.
